Meher Baba coined this simple phrase. A popular song by Bobby McFerrin was written about it. People still blurt out the 4 word mantra. And yet so few people heed its powerful message. We must become more aware of the truth behind the statement and practice it every day. It is the only way to combat the hatred and greed imbibing the minds of people around the world.
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.
― Henry van Dyke
I love this quote by Henry van Dyke. I included it in the book I wrote, Play the Game. Everyone has something that they are good at doing. They like the fact that they are good at it and so they gravitate towards that activity. But the opposite is also true. People avoid things that they aren’t that good at, even if they want to do it or feel that they need to. But if you understand that life is just a game, and practice remaining aware of the game, you will be more willing to sing and live they way you would like to, the way you deserve to.
